Steve

I have here some very good books with uniforms and equipment, but as Marc mentioned nearly everything changed during the war. So if you can tell me exact what you need I think I can help you

Ulrich

Steve, do you want ceremonial uniforms or as worn in field? Let me know and i will see what I have as I too have a few interesting books.Keep up the good work, see you at FW

Just to clear thing up a bit...

All middle-rank German infantry officers (Offiziere der Infanterie) during the Great War wore the same type of tunic as the soldiers did, only in a better quality (see link no. 1).

Higher ranking officers usually wore old-style, high collar, double-breasted tunics (link no. 2).

Greatcoats were commonly worn by officers (link no. 3).

Some officers would wear uniforms of their allies, usually of the Austro-Hungarian or Ottoman army, check the photo of Hans-Joachim Buddecke (link no. 4).

I'm afraid your question is a bit vague. if you narrowed it down to a certain rank or year it would be easier for me to give you information.

Be sure to check these as well: http://www.kaiserscross.com/, http://www.flickr.com/photos/drakegoodman/sets/72157608970862941/ (great WWI German Army reference archive).

Hope that helped.

Vasiles your added info was very useful for me and one thing I needed confirming was the fact he officers and enlisted mens tunics are the same design.
I am depicting an officer around 1916-17 period.

Thankyou

Steve
