WWII German panzer wrap help

Hello friends

Im after some advice on a german WWII uniform. German anything I know I know, minefield! Im working on the kirin 1/12 Michael Wittmann bust sculpted by Mike good. This is a change of pace for me as I usually paint fantasy subjects.

My question is on his shoulder boards. They have a piping? around the edge. The reference material I looked at looked red but after showing a friend (self appointed expert) said 'You know there pink' Hmmmmmmmm no or I would of painted them like that! Are they pink and if so what sort of shade?

Also what colour is the piping around his hat? Also looks red in my reference.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I was on the home stretch until I
hit this snag.

It would seem to be Rose (pinkish). Have a look at the piping on the hat and tunic in the 2nd pic, that would match the epaulettes. Which matches the other references.
