Beautiful work Stephen..........his flesh tones are great.....matter of fact....the whole figure is great.

Stephan, that is outstanding. The ENTIRE figure is good. I can't point one item out and say oh, I like how you did such and such. I like the whole figure and how it looks. Ok, if I had to pick one it would be the way you used color that were complimentory to each other and how they turned out. So many times I paint a figure only to discover that the colors don't look right. Not the case here with your figure. Truly a great looking figure. By the way, what scale is it?

Thanks,
Jim Patrick

Stephen, (y) (y) work,my friend !! That's one EXCELLENT figure you've made there. Keep up the great work.Cheers !
Kenneth

Guy, thanks.Yes ,I do agree that the flesh tones turned out nicely. I have to say that for once I managed to get the exact mix I had in mind considering the subject

Stephen Mallia

Jim and all ,thanks for your positive feedback. I agree that you have to visualise the end result as close as possible in a way that you can plan your mixes. I believe that a really good paint job is also ( apart from other things) the ability to achieve good colour harmony which has to be pleasing to the eye. This, obviously , staying in line with accurate uniform and reference detail. BTW the scale is 54mm

Stephen Mallia

Jason , of course I'll share the flesh mix with you. And any other mix if you need it. So here it is.

Base : AV860 + AC48
H/L : Base + AV860 + AV928
Shadows : Base + AV814 + AV950

Stephen Mallia

Gary and all ,thanks. Yes I agree that the sculpting of this piece is simply outstanding. It was designed by my favourite sculptor Adriano Laruccia for EMI. The thing is I don't know if it's avilable for the simple reason that it was given to participants of last year's St.Vincent show. You have to check through them I suppose

Stephen Mallia

Roc, thanks my friend. The sculpting is not mine though. It's by Laruccia

Stephen Mallia

ernesto, thanks for your comments. As for the eyebrows , I'm a little wary in this scale. It's not that they were forgotten but , personally I prefer to create an optical illusion rather than paint them overscale.Believe me teh size of the afce in the flesh is way to small to make that much difference. BTW I had a good look at your stuff in your gallery. My compliments.there's some pretty impressive stuff there

Stephen Mallia

Hi Anders.Yeah I think it came out quite Ok. I just started sculpting a drum major.I have the intention of posting an SBS on this one .Will keep you informed.

Hi Stephen,

I don't like it, I LOVE it. Very well done. The entire figure is superb, but his skincolour is super superb.

Keep up the excellent work.

Greetz,

Gino
