Can this piece be converted to a Zouave in WWI. My grandfather fought with the 3rd Zouave Regiment in the battle of the Dardanelles and was also at the battle of Verdun.

Yes it would be a very simple change. I am not sure about the specific Zouave regiment you mentioned. But uniform was very simliar, if not identical. They wore white pants in the summer and red in the winter.

The alteration is the rifle. The rifle used in 1914 would have been the i guess.
