Finally finished this guy. He required quite a lot of work. Bit of more than I can chew with this one I think to be honest. Like the 'eyes bigger than your belly' version of figure painting :D

Still glad I did it. Good to be trying stuff out of your comfort zone I guess.

But I'm done with 1/10 for a while. Drop down a few scales.
And I ain't painting leopard print for a while!

Fantastic sculpt though. Bit of an issue with the feathers not matching the holes on the wings and very brittle of course. But I'm happy with him. Excellent sculpt overall. Need a bit of a reshuffle in the cabinet to get him in!

Hope you like.

Cracking job mate, love the armour and those wings are tremendous.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon! Much appreciated.
I enjoyed doing the armour. Probably my favourite bit.

I thought a dirty battle worn look would match the facial expression more. As opposed to him all shiny and trying the armour on for the very first time lol.

I'm not overly enamoured with the gold but I'll work on honing my tmm 'gold skills'

Cheers!

I think this turned out really well, looks very good.

I hear what you say about larger scales. I recently tried paining a large scale bust and I gave up! I thought it would be easy but dealing with much larger areas to paint completely baffled me and it looked awful.....

Yeah they certainly do require a bit of planning and consideration. And with the larger scale some fabrics etc can be hard to pull off nicely.
Keep at it though! All worth it in the end :)
