Hi All
This is my latest painted figure; it is Jon Smith’s 120mm German Light Machine Gunner 1917. All you J S fans will notice that the spectacles are missing I am afraid that they fell victim to poor eyesight and modelling incompetence.

Hi Pete

great figure and very good painting. I like J.S. Figures, too. I have paint this figure some times ago and can say, that it is not so difficult as it looks like to paint the specs and put them on the figure. I am sorry, that I can´t show you some photos, because the figure was a gift for a friend.

I have got the new kit from Jon Smith with the two figures, the MG 08/15 and the trench some weeks ago and all I can say, that it is all the money worth.

Ulrich

Thanks Roger. The specs would have been ok if I had got it right first time but I did not and got a build up of glue.

Hi Vergilius, I used Andrea Field Grey for the uniform which is a little bit dark but the photo made it look much darker.

Hi Ulrich, I have seen the MG 08/15 Trench and it is great.

Hi Megroot. Thanks, Jon Smith,s new figures so if you see one buy it I would love to see it painted up.

Casting

Pete and other folks...

Very fine painting job there.

I really like his work but have never seen them in kit form.

The figure looks great, how was the engineering of the parts, were they well thought out for easy assembling ?

Especially interested in the placement and ease of cleanup of the resin casting plugs ?

Thanks

Richard

Terrific!

Ok - I'll resist the temptation to rave about Jon's models again. I completely agree however that they are very good value!

Peter - I have to agree with Vergillius - I think the uniform color looks too blue. Is it a Photoshop color transfer issue?

Want another shot at the glasses? Could I send you another set of glasses/specs? I have several pair from a Verlinden photoetch kit. If you'll pay the nominal postage, I'd be glad to send you one.

All the best,
Dan

Richard,
Jon Smith figures do have casting plugs but are easy to clean up.
I was hoping someone would have stepped in with some photo's of an unassembled kit from the box, hint, hint.
Assembly is straight forward and I can guarantee once you've done one you will be hooked.

Roger.

Ok Roger. I have understand. I will make a review this weekend from the new kit with the two figures , the 08/15 and many other needful things.

Ulrich

Hi Richard
Roger has answered your question J S figures are a snip to assemble.

Hi Roger
Yes thats the one.

Hi Dan
Thanks very much for your very kind offer to send me more glasses but I don't think I could face them again. Yes the colour of the photo did not come out the same as the figure but I have no way or correcting it.

Hi Ulrich
Good luck at your show this weekend, I wish I could be there.
Pete

Hi Pete

I am not on a show this weekend, because I am not able to visit the show in Antwerp. Our great german show, the duke of bavaria will happen in one month. 13.-15. April in Ingolstadt. And then I be there and hope to see many good figures and - what is more important for me - meet many good friends and can talk with many good painters

Ulrich

Colour correction

I have posted some photos that has been colour corrected by Dan Morton using Photoshop. The colours in these photos are spot on. Thanks Dan
Pete
