Hi

Mig thinner is mineral spirit (white spirit in the uk) so its no good to use for Vallejo paints which are acrylic, with Vallejo you can use plane old water or there own thinner, I get good results using vallejos airbrush cleaner. Also don't use alcohole most Vallejo paint go thick and gloppy when you add alcohole, although oddly not all of them.

I had a feeling that would be the case, i just had the bottle in my tool kit can't even remember why and when i bought lol. Do you think it could be used to clean an airbrush?

Mig thinner is basically white spirit(turps), so no, not good for water soluble paints.
I use good old tap water, and every now and again I strip it down and soak with cellulose thinner.
This I do dry, as the cellulose doesn't mix with water,;)

If you use ground pastels or pigments on your models/figures, you can use the Mig thinner to "anchor" the pigment onto the model. Don't wipe, just dip your brush and touch the area where the pigment is. Capilliary action will do the rest. This will keep the pigments fixed to where you want them to stay.

Yes but if you want to see good capillary action....
Fill a glass with whisky , look closely, you see the curve of the liquid against the glass ..
drink . you see no more
So don't drink mig or the pigment will not attach

Best :))
