    German shell-shocked WWI soldier

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions, Steve. I used Paine's grey for the facial hair - it's a little more visible on the second photo. Perhaps I should use some purple for the eye bags. All the best, Elia

    German shell-shocked WWI soldier

Hello all and happy new year! this is a small bust of a German WWI soldier I sculpted and painted (about 1/8th scale). I imagined him to be shell-shocked, so I tried to give him an intense look. Comments/feedback welcome, as usual. All the best, Elia :)

    Completed The Fool, 120 mm

Thank you for your kind words & your feedback, Dan! I will try out your suggestion & see how he looks. :) The aim was for a relaxed, cool look, perhaps a little defiant. :) I deliberately chose a simple pose - just to try out the scale. And simle enough to try a block mold. All the best, Elia

    Completed The Fool, 120 mm

Hello all, this is my first attempt at sculpting at 120 mm scale, instead of my usual 1/8 scale. Sculpted in Chavant. It is my take on a court fool - in a contemporary setting. (The missing hand is part of his back story. ) Feedback welcome as usual. Thanks for looking. All the best, Elia

    Porter vignette

I found the Vallejo product easy to use - if a little time consuming given that it works best when you apply it in thin layers. I liked the fact that you can colour it (I used acrylic inks) and that there are virtually no bubbles. Another option would be a two part resin or an epoxy glue but I...

    Porter vignette

Thank you, Dan, for your feedback & suggestions. I'm not entirely satisfied with the way the way the water has turned out, so I'll definitely look at it again & see how I can improve it. All the best, Elia

    Porter vignette

Hello everyone! This is a little vignette I made mainly in order to try out a couple of painting techniques and working with foam board and various water effects. Overall height is 28 cm, height of the figure is about 15 cm. The figure was sculpted in Chavant, cast in Acrylic One resin and...

Hello! My palette comprises of the following (all W&N tubes): ivory black, titanium white, burnt umber, raw umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, cadmium yellow, alizarin crimson, scarlet lake, cadmium red, prussian blue & french ultramarine. You can get most shades by mixing these. I hope this...

    WIP Fantasy vignette

Hello all! Following a few failed attempts I finally settled on a spider-like body to go with the monster's head. Texturing was done by cross-hatching and then applying alcohol to smooth the surface and finally using a texture pad made of Sugru. I'll mold the different parts of the creature...

    WIP Fantasy vignette

The head is more or less finished - now all I have to do is sculpt a monster body to go with it! I thought at first that it would be just the head but Dejan's (Dekiman) comment inspired me to do the whole thing. If I could draw it would be a lot easier to come up with a concept but since I...
