Hi Luke,
Thanks for the kind words about the figs. Last summer I had the chance to spend some time inside of four different real running Shermans. I was amazed at how tight a fit it actually was, one of those things that most modelers do not actually realize until they experience the real thing. This Sherman is actually true 1/35 and so are the figures.
A man had to turn sideways to exit these early hatches which was one of the reasons that the latter models of Shermans had the enlarged hatches.
I think that there is a little bit of an optical illusion in this photo, a depth of field trick adding to the confusion.
