The short sword.


The sword.
A= brushed it with suede brush.
b= 000 steel wool circular motion.
c = wash with dish washing detergent using an old tooth brush,rinse well.
d= several controlled washes of ivory black.
e= when dry burnish extremeties with the end of a knitting needle.


Scabbard
a= undercoat with Jo Sonja's acrylic Burnt umber.
b= base= Burnt umber + Burnt Sienna.
c= medium shadows = base + Windsor blue.
d= extreme shadows= straight Windsor blue.
e= medium highlight Mars brown.
f= extreme highlights= Indian red.

After it dries I will give it lighter highlights and darker shadows.

Very nice work Roc - A heck of a lot of work for a very small piece! That will reap rewards once your full figure is put together - an argument in favour of painting pre-assembly perhaps. I never have the patience to put that much into the accessories (or the groundwork :( )
