The long awaited update.. Sorry Nap.
I've painted the tunic in acrylic, but decided to do the armour in oils
to give a nice leather appearance, fingers crossed it works.

Thanks Nap,
Hopefully the leather will dry leaving a slight sheen to it.

Forgot to mention I used Chrome Orange Deep to add a nice tone to the leather, before adding a little scuffing.

I finally found some time to return to the bench this morning.
I've continued to use oils on the belt and pouches,
while using acrylics on the ornamentation.

Before attaching the busts right arm in place, I painted the crow and the hammer.
These were initially painted in acrylics and considering the difficulties I have keeping a steady hand, because of my arthritis,
I was pleased with how the crow turned out, I can't say the same for the hammer and turned to oils and detailed it as best possible.
The inside of the shield was detailed with acrylics before being giving a wash in Van Dyjck Brown (oils) to enhance the detail.

It all looks good to me, arthritis or not...... Age does impose some limitations on us all but hopefully the enjoyment is still there.

Thanks Nigel, The limitations do cause some frustration, but the enjoyment is still there.
