That picture of the Drum Major marching outdoors shows perfectly why the Bearskin rarely looks right on larger scale models, it has masses of volume but no density and no real texture
https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/gsm-mott-corporal-scots-guards-200mm.94275/

There is also a debate to be had on whether a Guard Bearskin is really appropriate headgear for the US Military

Historically the bearskin cap was worn by grenadiers of several nationalities. Although the Brigade of Guards are best known for wearing the bearskin, there are several regiments within the UK and in other countries which still wear it.

Used this site to see details

http://www.medalsofamerica.com/medals-and-ribbons/marine-medals-and-ribbons/marine-ribbons

medal ribbons finished on both right chest and on DM baldric ...still to do sash details

Reworked the actual medals as one was a square and another 2 a octagon .........Ribbons no more than 3mm across ! ....just love it when there is Miniatures !

Used various ref pics as here on thread but on sash went for from Left -Right ( hopefully ! )

That does not look easy, but the medals are coming together nicely. The different shapes are obvious. Did you consider replacing the resin with styrene?

Yeah, that will work too. I tend to reach for styrene as a first thought every time, too many years of AFV modelling in a mis-spent youth!

Hi Folks

Whilst working on the sash edges kept looking at the actual medals .......wasn't happy with the shaping/look .......so off they came and I reworked them

Happier now

That mace head is going to be a bugger. So many flawless complex curve reflections.

At first glance it is a simple bust with some painstaking detail work, but that mace and the bearskin add hugely to the difficulty of this one.
