Hi bigtodd,
If going to Paris you might want to check out this site / shop - www.soldats-plomb-au-plat-etain.fr/index.html
Never been there myself but from what I've seen and read by other it is great for painted up figures. I don't believe it sells castings or kits.
Hope you and maybe others find it interesting. Also suspect other Planeteers know this shop and can provide more detailed information.
Yours,
Lightbob

I gave up. Thought I found adv/azimuth but turned out to be a bicycle shop. Maritime Museum was awesome! And the the Hotel invilide Museum was cool.

So wife got to spend all the money on the Champ eylsees and nothing for me......

If you can't go to any model shops, go to the Musée de l'Armée instead. That one's well worth a visit (or two or three...)

A lot to see in the museum and expect to spend at least one full day, and then there is the Napoleon building.
Make sure you locate the room with the collection of toy soldiers. It is in another building via the courtyard and containing paper and flat figure armies. If I remember correctly there is a small room across the hall with some band uniforms and instruments. On the top floor is a massive collection of relief maps.
