Finally posting a completed figure... :)

A real joy to paint. Lots of metals and different leather and cloth textures.
I initially thought the face did not have much expression. After painting it up, I changed my mind. I tried to paint him as an old campaigner.

The only area I am dis-satisfied with is the white tunic. I have not found a good oil mix yet to this "color" :)

The "heraldry" could have been better too. But...

I really like your metals Keith.. Look very good. Regarding the white... I believe that a little black in order to make the main mix is good... and then with pure white for the highlights. Start from a rather dark base mix.. so you have room for the lights.

Hey Keith, very nice, I like it, the only thing I would probably do different is the white, the shadows on the sleeves are a bit to heavy.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers
Roc. :)

Keith,
I think this guy turned out wonderfully! The whites will come with time. The weathering is fantastic, particularly the shield. Nicely done!

Hi Keith Congratulations
the painting is good in total with of
the optimal tips that are the shield
the face and the materials (leather - Metals).

Good! ;)

MAB :)

Thanks for all the comments and critiques on the whites...

I did use a bit of mars black and WN blue for the whiltes (shades). For me, the black seems to deaden the shadow. I have seen black used effectively as a shadow by others here, but I was not totally pleased by my results. I think I will try for a warmer tone next time. As some one mentioned, there is always next time. ;)

Dim- No not from Sweden. 101% USA. The Petersen in the Danish part of the mix...

Cheers-

Keith
