:) Hello Paul, let me know your problem with the black color, and i try to help you. do you play with the oils colors? Ciao from Luca :)

As usual, Luca presented us with another of his masterpieces! Really astonishing paintjob, Luca, absolutely great! :)

Being an oil painter, I would like to know your secret about painting faces, blacks and whites. Also, please tell me, what do you use to thin your paints, White spirit or something else?

Best regards,

Nemanja

Ciao Luca!
Very good painting. This figure is on my 'wish list' :) I like your version. Compliments.

Best regards and Merry Christmas

Hi

I have been visiting this site for a while now and felt it about time I registered, and it is unfortunately in this thread that I decided put my first post. Sorry guys, but I dont rate this as one of Lucas better figures, infact it seems that quality is being ignored for speed, I apologise, I am not meaning to offend, but Luca has painted far better than this in the past, he is a very good painter and deserves the credit for some of the very best box arts around, but this figure seems to be lacking in the quality he has achieved before now. I think Luca places his figures on here for reasonable feedback, as does many of planeteers, gratuatous back slapping for the sake of saying something, does nobody any favours.

Hi Luca,

I paint in Vallejo acrylics. They are great for details but I struggle with large areas. My paint is either too black negating the impact of the shadows or too light grey for the effect of a black cape.

:) For Nemanja and Paul. I used oil colors for my figureS, over undercote acrilic or umbrol .My thin for oil colors is SANSODOR (LOW odour solvent) WINSOR & NEWTON.

for my black mix I used: avory black + my flesh mix: MARS YELLOW. TITANIUM WITHE+ MARS BROWN+ A LITTLE TOUCH OF RAW UMBER. iI use this colors (black and flesh mix) very dark for the shadows, but I don't used never pure black, so the color is hot. I used normal tone mix for the intermedie parts, and more flesh in the mix for the lights. for the dust i used base mix, with more flesh and mars yellow.

for my flesh tone face,Iuse the same for the black. for the lights used flesh by Lukas colors, in the mix, and for the high lihts pure lukas flesh.
for the shadows, mix Cadmiun red+ ivory black in the mixflesh tone. When the face is dry I used acrilic satin vernish on the face. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Luca
