Hi Guys

Just a line to show you what I have been working on as well as the trumpeter, slight conversion to the head of a Pagan Miniatures Buccaneer bust, the rest is scratch, Magicscup and Plasticard.

Critique always welcome........

Dave

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments.

Marc, sorry mate, he is going to be a Buff Coat Officer of the English Civil War

Dan, No big floppy hat... but he will have a single bard lobstpot helmet, so it shouldn’t cover all that expression on the face

Dave

Dave, Your work is really clean (a good thing). While I do not know much about the period, I'm wondering if the armor follows the contour of the body too closely. It's just a thought.~Gary

Hi Gary

Good point I will look into it, I would just like to say the pedastal is not the final one, as I want him to be leaning forward by a couple of degrees, this may change the look of it slightly

Dave

Dave, GREAT conversion! I always thought that buccaneer had potential beyond the original bust. Is he going to have a string of the powder flasks we often see on ECW figures across his chest? Keep us posted, anxiously awaiting this one coming together!

Hi Guys

just a little update, I have added the Cuirass straps and the customary musket dent, and I have started the helmet

Hi Gary - I have looked over the depth of the cuirass and figured out that the part `i was using to mount the head to the soulders was a bit too volumous, I have not adjusted this yet, but I will when I add the buff coat collar

Wow!!!! that looks great mate. Love the balistic test on the cuirass. Im jealous as I would love to paint it.... Hardy

Thanks guys for the compliments

Hi John - I am trying not add to much of the arms, kind of defeats the object of it being a bust then, but thats why I want it to have as much agression in the face and stance of the shoulders as possible

Hi Hardy - thanks for the compliments, especially your wish to paint it, a very big compliment indeed. It would be good if you could, but unfortunately, its an idea I have had on the back burner for about a year and I have so many ideas on the painting of it, that I realy dont want to let it go, thanks again

Dave

Dont blame you mate, you could throw paint at that face and it would look great.

Hi Hardy

So are you going to Dublin this year, I am over there for the next one, we have relatives in Dublin, so I have to do the show at least once....

So I’ll see you there mate if you are going
