This a very beautiful figure sculpted by the talented Signor Gianni La Rocca and researched by Marco Giuliani and Michael Gohl.
The figure is a 90mm. Roman Gladiator "Thraex".

After a long break from painting, I finally decided to start this figure.
I painted the Galea " broad brimmed helmet crested with a gryphon head" , and the Ocrea "bronze carved greaves".
They still need extreme shadows and highlights.

Bornze
Base = Liquitex acrylic Iridescent Metalic bronze + a bit of Liquitex acrylic
raw umber.
Medium Shadow = base + more Raw umber and a touch of black.
Deep Shadow = Raw Umber + black.
Medium Highlights = Iridescent Metalic Bronze.
High highlights = Roses gold powder.
Extreme Highlights = touches of silver here and there.

The Perizoma is undercoated in red acrylic and ready fo the oils.
