Hector 1200 BC, 1/10th Bust Young Miniatures

Hi guys,

First shots of my latest project, 1/10th scale bust of Prince Hector of Troy (Eric Bana - Go Ausssie

) from the movie "Troy" by Young Miniatures.

I've painted the base flesh colour in several thin layers of Vallejo acrylics (Flat Flesh). The eyeballs are painted Ivory and the iris Black Grey.

I also have the companion piece, Achilles (Brad Pitt) and intend to present them together on the same base, facing each other.

I've spent the past 4 hours laying in the deep shadows on Hector's face and putting the finishing touches to his eyes.

Deep shadow colour is Brown Leather and Flat Flesh. Mid shadow is Medium Flesh.

Mark, I did a bust of Mel Gibson as Braveheart (pics attached) many years ago. That must be the Aussie movie-hero trifecta!!

Hi guys,

I've now done the mid highlights and added some red skin tones.

Still some blending to be done.

Highlight colour is Flat Flesh mixed with Basic Skintone.

Upper highlights still to be done.

Latorre's Robin Hood just doesn't quite cut it as an Errol Flynn look a like

Eric is looking really good............I meet Eric at a Macdonalds store last year when I was down at Melbourne Expo, I'll have to take pictures in case I see him again
