hi tony. been following this with interest because this bust is next up for my efforts.good sbs and a nice looking end result. can i also add this thread also shows that this and other forums can be used not only as a group back slapping meet,(as in yours looks good tell me whats good about mine).... a guy who has been known to have thrown a few gems (busts/ figures) out in his time ,some call them classics. has given his 2 cents worth about what he doe's not like about this bust. not a dig or knock about the the guy or the quality of the scult and not a dig about how it's been painted just his opinion on the mouth open. the company from where the bust came will IMO also become known if not already for the odd classic. a few backs went up for a short while but all came out good in the end. this is a forum to express views and show talent. well done on a good bust and a good discussion. dave. PS shame it can't happen a little more often.!!!!!

Hi Marc and Denes,

Thanks for your comments guys, as always I greatly appreciate your feedback.

I took Hector along to my club meeting last night and one of our members brought along a drill core sample of solid granite which he's going to cut up with a diamond saw and make into a base. When the granite is coated with gloss lacquer all the marvellous colours and textures in the rock will give the whole piece a wonderful strength.

I hope to have Hector finished in a few days but I'll wait a few weeks until he's properly mounted on his base before I post anymore pics.

In the meantime, I'll get busy trying to deplete the ranks of my Grey Army.

Cheers

Hi guys,

Latest pics of Prince Hector.

He's now ready for mounting on the base.

A few minor touch ups required before I stop painting.;)

Comments/criticisms welcome.:)

Cheers

Awesome work Tony. I can't see a thing that needs to be touched up. Great flesh tones and the shield turned out fantastic. Whats next on your bench?

Tony,
Absolutely amazing painted. I like the touch of the red into the metals.
Maybe some highlighting and shading in the green on the shield. On the second picture it looks all the same green.
That's my only comment on this absolutely stunning paintjob.

Marc

Beautiful work,Tony.
You've done a great job on the face and the rest.
I agree with Marc on the shield green.
Well done,mate.

Marc, Marcel, Denes and Mark,

Thanks for your comments guys. I agree with your comments about the green area on the shield. I'll try to add a bit more contrast to the colours.

Cheers

Final Pics of Hector

Hi guys,

Here are the final pics of Young Miniatures bust of Hector, Prince of Troy.

The bust is mounted on the resin plinth supplied with the kit, which is fixed to a round block of white granite.

A fantastic bust to paint and a great companion piece to Achilles, which has been primed and is waiting impatiently for my paint brushes to go to work on him.

Comments/ criticisms welcome.

Cheers
