My new project will be a Germanic, swabian, warrior running towards the enemy. I have made some handsketches of what he is suposed to look like. He will have trousers, shoes and a bare upper body(perhaps I'll give him a pullover). He will either hold a sword or a spear in his right arm.

As you can see I have made an attempt to prepare the fingers with much thinner. wire(not sure if its a good idea). The body armature is made out of 1,5 steel wire, it is covered with alumina foil which in tur is covered with green stuff.
Im not sure how to make the shield yet. If i make shield and sword out plastic i'll have atached after heating the figure. Anyone hane any advice?

oops, missed the atatchements.

Following advise in another thread I'll try to make separate heads( I'll probably make several to choose from), but at the same time i will still try to sculpt a head directly on the figure. If it doesn't work out I'll saw it of an replace with another head(I'll get some practice in making busts att the same time).

I think you might have suggested forward movement of the figure had it been leaning in that direction. While he may be in a running position it looks more like he's running in place. Unfortunately these are things that are learned after a figure is well underway. It's all part of the learning process that can be passed on to the next figure. ~Gary

I agree completly with Garyid.. Great start!! keep up the good work!!

Ok, here is the separate head. I decided to try out the clay gun I just bought to add some hair for the guy. The swabian hairknot was a bit problematic. LivingDoll is suposed to be heated 130c for 15min for every 6mm. But since he has an uneven thickness he was a bit burned.

When it comes to the leaning forwards thing, i a woring on his toes bending at the feet, unfortunate there is no wire reinforment there. After the sculpture is burned i think I will try to drill a hole in his feet and attach him to the base with a separate pin. Then he will hopefully have a more realistic leaning posture.

Next step

Have been working on the hands, and the trousers, having problems with reaching the chest where the left arm is in the way. I'M starting to wonder if I should burn the body as it is now, them cut of the left arm an file away irregularities. and then attach a new arm.
