Me again ...... :)

between Finishing my two previous WIPs and preping my next two i decided to have a crack at this....

i'm trying to just paint it and enjoy the process rather than really go mad on it! i've done somewhere in the region of 15 hours so far on it, hope to finish it in a couple more days.

the stripes on the pants are awfull but not enough to re-do ;)

a really nice sculpt to paint but frankly a bit of a pig to clean-up ( or i'm just rubbish at white metal :) )

all done in Vallejo and GW acrylics as usual, i'm pleased-ish with the sheild. ish :)

Mark, excellent painting, great work on the shield, especially the wood effect, many thanks for showing.

Cheers Ken

Hello! Mark.

David ..... Thank you! yeah I have been looking at Latorres figures and busts for a while and this came up on ebay at a good price so ...... :)

Balázs ... Thank you :)

Marc .... thanks and yes I think your right :)

Carl ... thanks man! :)

Pedro ... Again thank you! :)

Janne ... thanks and i have done a bit more work to tighten the edges :)

Ken ..... than you :) the wood is a bit boring to do but i like the result ... love the new avatar btw LOL!

John ... thank you , it was my first ever shield! ;)

Mitsutaka! ... many thanks :)

Stefano ..... Many thanks :)

Update ....

have done a few more layers of shading on the body to try and warm it up a bit ( that red shield seems to draw the other colours out ) and worked the hair, top lip and some of the metal work. also been worrying at the stripes on the pants... happy with progress so far but still a fair bit to do especially on the body

thanks for the input everyone

:)

Great looking figure Mark.
I like what you did with the fleshtones.
You have a nice personal painting style.

Greets,
RJ

I like it, very beautiful the red-orange of the shield..if i can suggest you i would think for a more highlight and shade on the scabbard , but it's a my personal liking..

cheers

Robert .... thank you very much! :)

Stefano ... thank you and i did add a little more texture to the scabard :)

weathering, Stage 1 .... lots of over the top mud and dust, next i will remove about 70% of it and add a finer thinner layer over the remainder.

:)

About done with the weathering ( removed more of the first layer, added ground conte pastels, removed again and then added a final thin layer of the conte's, conte was dry applications ), some speckles to clean up round the waist and on the cloak...... next is all the little bits to tighten it up and finish!!

:)
