Morning Andy....
mate Dans' hit the nail on the head,upper right arm a wee long, just a couple mm's, also push the shoulder joint and flesh bulk closer into his neck,mate whats a saw or two amongst friends shirt sleeves can allways be re stitched..

Phil,Dan,
I see what you mean.The right shoulder has lost something in the measuring.I had already start to sleeve the arm but squashed some fresh putty on the braces,so its getting the heat treatment before I saw the arm and shorten it.Like you say it will only need a mil or two.

Gidday,
have done some alterations and work on the sleeves .I will seperate the left arm and key it.The next step is to work on the body and equipment,ei bandolier,water bottle.Comments welcome.

Gidday All,
Here,s a bit more on the bust.The bandolier has been started,there are the pouches to add to the back but these will be seperate or in a row of four when cast.The pouches have a texture on them that resembles lined scrapping.i have tried to simulate this with gently running a sharo modelling knife along the surfaces.
Masters for the bit and bridle are being cast in white metal,so will show those at a later date.Comments welcome.

Some work has been started on the other hats.Two brimmed hats,one with side up and one full brim.I may yet put a pugaree on the "Aussie "hat,but I,ve seen hats with a band around the hat also,suggestions please.
You will also see some bridle bits cast ,there are two lengths of strap,these will go under the horses head,cheek and jaw as the "top half of the bridle will be cast on the head.There are two parts to the bit,one piece either side of the mouth.
The back of the bandolier on the figure has been releived to allow for the remaining four pouches to be added later and be cast seperately.
An ID tag has also been added to our mans shirt front.NZMR had round tags and a rectangular tag with chamfered corners.

The drapery on this fig is looking spectacular, you have captured the effect - a refreshing change from the 'pointed tool pushed into a cylinder of putty' look!

This is just the most remarkable piece. And the sculpting of that horse is
. . . well, I seem to be running out of words. Starting from the idea you
conceived, which is so unique, so human, and so touching. We do love our
animals. Of course, you've done a beautiful job of tying these two figures
together, but to me, adding the bandolier around the horses neck, the same
way the bandolier goes around the torso of the soldier, is just an inspired
stroke. What intelligent thinking. Will this piece be released commercially?

And if so, who will be doing the molds and when will it be released. Or is
it too soon to ask these questions?

The sad fact for these magnificant beasts after their duty in the Middle East was that none of them returned home,bar one.

Gidday,
Some bridle and bit work is being done here,The reins you see are just some alu sheet quickly cut to give and idea,Actualy the rider /bust will be holding the reins in his left hand.There is yet to add a hobble rope also around the neck and a walk rope too.Comments welcome.
