Here is a Verlinden bust I just completed of Jozef Poniatowski. This is only my third bust I have done and unfortunately my photo has really washed out the fleshwork of which I am really happy with. It's painted in oils and the gold and silverwork were done with silver and gold printers inks except for the epaulets and cords which I did with the "silver without silver" technique. SO all comments and critiques are welcome. I am trying to really improve my napoleonics paintinf so please give me some constructive feedback.

Hi Jason,

You've done a fantastic job on this bust. The flesh tones, braidwork and metallics are excellent. I'm curious to learn more about your "silver without silver technique"... Care to explain it??

Thanks Tony. Yes, I can explain the "Silver without Silver" technique.
1. Undercoat in black
2. next coat is Testors Gunship grey
3. Testors ghost grey
4. Testors light ghost grey.
If you can see in the pic where I just add lighter, smaller strokes of the lighter colors and the light ghost grey is used sparingly. Hope this explains it but let me know if you have more questions. Thanks again for the kind words bro. These napoleonics are so challenging but so much fun. Just want to improve at them.
