Very good, I doubt I'd have the patience for all that masking and airbrushing, the whole thing would have to be brush work. Looking forward to the tigerstripes, a really cool camouflage pattern.

Right gents, here's where it's at, last week I got a gastro virus, lost 5kg in 4 days (I was 85kg Friday and 80 Monday), took two days to recover and am still a little weak at it, but I have work in the morning. What could be more calming than modelling.

I'm working on getting the pattern of the stripes correct, some of the stripes are flicks, some are strokes, if that makes sense. I'm satisfied that the green will settle down under a dull / matt varnish, and a bit of weathering. This is the start, the folds of the clothing make this a little challenging, too.

I'm working on my photography and getting more natural lighting.

Affirm, talking to the porcelain telephone, or sitting on the throne four days, is no fun ever. But, we're back at it, folks!

Here, I'm looking at consistency of pattern for tiger stripe camo, the lighting has changed the colour, so ignore that, and how it will look overall once finished. I think it'll work... I am concerned about doing the buff part of the stripes and using an oil or enamel to do it, the line may be too fine to use acrylic, even with retarder in.

Cracking work, I hear you on consistency of pattern, it can creep up in size if you aren't careful, been there done that, unfortunately.

Just quickly, I'm trying a different technique to the stripes, which I think looks more accurate that before...

Looks good to me, I'll take your word for the accuracy. Just from British DPM there are huge variations in the patterns and even shades, which only makes it harder to capture the quintessential look that everyone will appreciate.

Ok gents, the figure on the left is a little different to the figure on the right in that the stripes have been done by "scrubbing" the brush back and forth, not strokes and flicks like the guy on the right. That and I used a colour A4 page of tiger stripe camo as a guide, not an image of a tiger stripe shirt and pants for the first guy, on the right. My preference is the left figure and I'm wondering whether I can make right guy match without a repaint.

Have to take feedback on this before moving to next stage, the brown inserts and buff lines.

Interesting to see the two together , personally I think you could feather the edges of the right one but be careful not to go too much

Looks good as is, I reckon you could make the changes you mention because a repaint is way too drastic, I know you want to make them as accurate as possible but camouflage is meant to be irregular and chaotic.

Thanks, gents, I appreciate the candour. I think I will feather the edges with the brown and buff than a repaint, which is a tad drastic.

Today's progress, the arms and a leg. As I'm using retarder in the paint, I leave it to dry over night rather than rushing it and smudging what I've done. The arms are easy as I can hold the bare skin forearm when rotating and painting the sleeve. The brown is clearer than in the photo, I'm no photographer and the tablet is not up to the job either. Happiness!

Glad you have this sorted now and not repainting, the brown looks good even in the photo, not that it's easy to see against the pot plant being camouflage and all!

Looking good, I had a chance to study some tiger stripe on a Vietnam era photo, it is actually a very complex pattern up close.
