Totally cool Ken!

Have you read his book 'Grenadiers'? ........I haven't read it yet........haven't found a copy cheap enough.

This portrait is before he grew a 'tash, as he appears in the famous Normandy 'Abbye d'Ardennes' photos.

Cheers,
jon.

Hi Jon, thanks for the comment. I've not read his book but will certainly look out for it, perhaps we could start up a Planet Figure lending library. Hope Gordy reads this. :)

Cheers Ken

Christos, many thanks and yes you're correct , just looked it up , it's at Kleisoura Pass in Greece 14th April 1941.

Decided to change the cap to show more of the cap band , I think in keeping with the original pic and in the process altered the visor. I hope it's an improvement.
Many thanks for looking and I welcome all comments.

Cheers Ken

Definite improvement with the crusher cap mate and your persavearance has payed of even though it probably got frustrating at times :) the visor looks much better now you have flattened it to the forehead more, so is it onto the torso now ?

all the best mate,

Steve(y)

Hi Ken,

another progress:) indeed the insignias are very well sculpt(y)
Keep us posted mate(y):)

Steve, thanks , wasn't sure if all the extra work was worth it, you know what's it's like, you change one thing and it has a snowball effect and you end up fighting to get back to square one:mad::) I've been working on the Torso today, so should post progress pics tomorrow. cheers mate.

Pedro my friend, thought I'd try something different , instead of having the head sit inside the collar I thought I'd try it this way so that the collar will stand away from the jacket.

Cheers Ken

UPDATE

Here's where I'm up to , still a lot of work left, shoulder straps and Iron cross on pocket, also will have to saw the right arm off for casting purposes and fit hand to Binoculars . I've noticed from the pics that one shoulder is slightly wider and I hope to rectify when I remove the arm. I welcome all comments and critique.

Cheers Ken

Hi mate,

awesome, the folds and creases are very well done.
You work on a winner.(y):)

great job on the drapery mate, it shows that you studied the image well to get the folds and creases just right.

should have something to post off to you tomorrow, just doing finishing touches now :)

Steve thanks for the comments and honestly it wasn't a subtle hint about the Bino's, looking forward to seeing them. Cheers matey. (y)

Andy cheers, many thanks.

Just received these Binoculars and lense cover both hand crafted by Steve 1969, such incredible detail at 1/9th scale, many thanks again matey much appreciated. BTW the only problem I've come across is when I looked through the lens it wouldn't focus correctly.....;):D(y)

Cheers Ken
