Since La Meridiana first started releasing the series on Lewis & Clark I have wanted to do a scene using as many of the figures as I could. William Clark is the 1st figure of 4 I will be painting for my own scene of The Lewis & Clark Expedition. I finished up the first figure today of William Clark.

Below are a couple ( of many ) reference photos. The top one shows the 3 figures of Lewis, Clark and Sacajawea. The bottom photo shows the additional Mountain Man that I would also like to include if my base is big enough.

The next figure for this scene will be Sacajawea. Cleaned up and seams removed ready to be primed.

Work in progress - all comments welcomed.

Great work so far Guy, will be following this one with interest as I have this to do myself but only with the three figures

Keep up the good work(y)

Cheers

Looks great Guy. I am excited to see you are painting these and look forward to seeing the rest now. I have been working on Lewis and Clark (just the 2 of them) for the last couple of weeks as well and hope to have them finished in another couple of days. Just got the arms and metallic bits left at this point. I have asked a very talented friend to create an impressive base for me to put these on. I really like this manufacturer and am excited for the eventual release of the new Trading post figures we've seen previewed.

Thanks Dave and Jay for the feedback.

Dave ~ I always look forward to their next releases from La Meridiana.

Great one Guy, look forward to seeing it done. Nice project.
Does it strike you as a bit odd that Sacajawea looks like she does in that painting...I wonder why she is portrayed as so much older than she was...she was really just a kid.
When you think about her on the coin from a few years ago, the difference is substantial.

Thanks Mitsutaka and Phil.

Phil ~ I noticed that difference right away. My version with depict her as a much younger woman as she actually was.

Looking great Guy! (y) I like the counter-balanced pose of the figure with the heavy rifle —

BTW, what are the white settings on your camera? It's seems to be giving off a yellowish hue to the fleshtones :(

This would make a GREAT figure, I really like the striped top!

Thanks Gordy.

La Meridiana already has a Mountain Man out sculpted from this painting which I hope to be able to use in this planned vignette.

I painted the first one in a red capote click here

A couple of people have mentioned the yellow hue. When I take the figure (s) out from under the lights the flesh looks normal.

Nice! Although the pose from the picture has more moxie! ;)

What's your lighting setup?
