Hello Colin,this is a step by step with pictures as i promise earlier.
On the first pic you'll see the tools i use.
For fine details like hair,fur,lace,cords and other small items i use Greenstuff (Kneadatite) .
My mix is 50/50 ,let it rest for 30 minutes before start working and shaping.
1- once i mix the greenstuff and let it sit for 30 minutes i tear a little piece and make it into a ball,put it onto the figure head about have the lenght of the ear , then i use the black tool you see on the pic and "spread" it to the upper side of the head,just a light preassure ( make sure you wet the edge of the tool,saliva works hehe
).
2- then i shapened the curl, and make the desire lenght of it.
3- once i have the "cylinder" shape curl i pich it trough with the nail tool,not too deep,front and rear end of the curl.
4- use the Exacto knife and "draw the lines of the hear from top to bottom with very little pressure and make sure the knife is moistened .
5- use the nail tool and "draw" the hear , same procedure on the bearfur hats.
6-As for the ponytail , i make a little ball of greenstuff , put a dot of glue on the back of the head and stick the ball to it, then i use the Exacto knife and pressed almost all the way to the glued point, make a double press line so it looks like a hair tie ,it will be devide in 2 little balls,then pinch it at either end with the nail tool, finally draw the hair line with the exacto.
I hope what i have wrote here is understandable , tried to be simple but there is always a language barrier .
