Here's something I've been doing on and off for ages it's a great bust with loads of character sculpted by Carl Reid for Stormtroopers http://www.stormtrooperminiatures.co.uk/
Still loads to do on the gloves, arms and pedestal and a tidying of the face.
The post is more to do with me trying to improve my photograpy of models. I'll post more over the next wee while and hopefully you'll note some improvement.
Cheers

Lovely work, Del. Those Father Jack glasses seem to work well.
Love that leather finish.Look forward to seeing the final piece.

That looks great Del nice one,the leather work is great, I'm nicking it for my bust . I'm not sure what the name plate says though is it in some obscure dialect ;) ?

Thanks guys much appreciated.
Marc, photo 1 is probably the closest to the actual colour of the metal, it's much browner than the shots show.
What I tried to represent was the way Reivers used mutton fat to 'season' helmets and breastplates, this gave them a brownish patina.
Cheers

Lovely work Del, love what you have done with the breastplate. You told me about the "Mutton fat" on the breastplate before, this seems to catch it perfectly.
Look forward to seeing it in the flesh soon.

Browned armour was quite in style too for a while so again that would work as you've done it Del (y) Interesting about the mutton fat, English archers used much the same on their leather work to act as an early dubbing to waterproof it.
