It's a great start to a great figure Mate.
I like this one a lot Fella.
Are you using Acrylic paint and do you always work on a black base colour.
I have a Mate here who uses the black base for acrylics, but I do not think I would get away with lighter tones on black with oils.
What do you think Mate?

Looking forward to the next edition Steve
Cheers,
Keith

Cheers Carl, thanks Keith I actually primed the face in white it's done in oils also I use acrylics on the figures but with busts am a convert back to oils for the faces, I vary the base according to the figure TBH my go to is plain old grey Halfords car primer

Looking forward to the next stage Steve. I've started using a black priming coat on pretty much every part of a figure except flesh areas.
It's very forgiving particularly where you might miss a spot on an undercut.
Cheers

Thanks Del yeah thats what I use it for as well especially chain mail and the like, but the grey has the advantage of being easier on the lighter colours I find.

Steve

Thanks Guys,
I always prime with Halfords grey or more often white.
It,s a good point though Del, I do get those little white dots in those difficult places to get at.
How do you find the coverage on white cross belts etc.
Cheers,
Keith

Keith, for white, after the black primer I undercoat with several even coats of very pale grey enamel. When absolutely dry final coat is titanium white with a tiny dab of paynes grey and a tiny dab of whatever colour the belt crosses. Pretty much standard.

This is looking good Steve. However, I will just
whistle "Dixie" while I sit here in the Stands or out in the
barking lot. . . .
Jusssss kiddin' big time! You know fer sure. . . I'll
watch with interest. . . BTW, I love your Avatar
especially after seeing the animated film

their own language. So clever. . . . .
