That will be for sure a one off, only the monument could be reproduce if someone want to have one. It is a very long story. 7 or 8 years ago a friend made for me a copy from that scene

He ask me if he could make copies from the figure and I said "yes". Then the master and the copies vanished and 4 years later I got only one copy from the soldier. Some month ago I ask Alan if he could make the monument for me that I could paint it after such a long time

And here are the results. The bicycle is on old preiser bicycle, not the correct scale (the figure is 75 mm) but it works. One of the packs will be later on the bicycle. So all I have to do now is to paint the scene and I will start this weekend.

As you can see the monument is copy and if you want one please contact me

Can't wait to see that painted. Are you goig to try to copy the muted dusty look of the (presumably) colourised photo? That would be hard to pull off but would look great.

This is a great idea, I'm also looking forward to seeing the finished piece...beautiful

Thanks for the comments.

Colin: Have a look here http://www.worldwaronecolorphotos.com/index.html or here http://www.mediatheque-patrimoine.culture.gouv.fr/fr/archives_photo/visites_guidees/autochromes.html
I think a part of the dusty look is a technical problem. We have in our archive many black and white photos that changed into a brown colour and then some parts begins to vanish. I ask some experts and they told me that something gone wrong during the illumination of the photo paper or the paper was after the process not enough watered. And so a chemical action begins after some years. And on the photo you can see that process on the right side.
But because I am a former tank builder I have an airbrush and know how to get a "dusty" look on things. Perhaps I will try it here too
