French Zouave 1866-1885

Finished this figure from Pegaso. It is a 75 mm French Zouave and is awesome sculpted by Carl Reid.
As always painted with oils and printersinkt.
I hope I get some comments for the learning process.

Hi marc
Very nice figure. Something strikes me a little bit in your painting. We see too much blue from the iris while the sclera (white) is not showing enough. Also the blue is too blue and looks a little bit unreal. Might be the pictures however.

Hi Marc,

Overall very nice work. Excellent colour choices for the blue, red and white.

My comments would be about the eyes. I think a thin dark line along the upper edge would make quite a difference. And maybe to make the iris a bit smaller next time (leaving a bit more of the white of the eye).

But again, overall a great piece.

I shell correct the eye, with a little white into the corners and a dark line in the upper eyelid.
