My latest one finished, a Flammenwerferpionier of the Garde-Reserve-Pionier-Regiment 1917, a conversion based on a Scale75 figure with everything except the basic posture scratchbuilt or from the spares box.

I like it(y). An unusual subject. Thank God you got rid of that unrealistic flame!

Would not like to have been in the trenchsection about to be 'cleaned. You don't see this often as a Great War subject. But then you never see a machingun team either. Let alone a sniperteam operting in no -man's land.

Odd isn't it? Considering the fact that most casuaties on the WW I fronts were caused by: 1. artillery; 2. machineguns and 3............. snipers. That period is often considered the 'Golden Age' of sniping. Or was it the American Civil War?

Cheers
Paul

Glad you like it Paul. The flame was the first thing to go in the dustbin. The figure itself was reworked to a WW1 tunic, all the rest except the arms and hands holding the pipe is scratch, including the Kleif. A British sniper converted from a Steve Warrilow figure is waiting on the workbench, but artillery in 1/24th scale is not an option yet!
Cheers,
Piet

Very nice conversion - my son did this one a while back as a WW1 version, minus the gasmask! - I think the original figure looks more WW1 than WW2, IMO(y)
