Superb work Paul, quite simply I couldn't fault this if I tried really really hard, it is a cracking piece of work and a really testament to your skill and passion.

Cheers Simon

Just going to agree with this learned fellow.......this is great to see happening

Thanks for update

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

That’s really kind of you Simon - thank you. It’s a build I’ve *really* enjoyed and it’s a bit of a surprise that it’s gone so well - so far. I’ll have to be careful not to go too far down the scratchbuild rabbit hole or I’ll get booted from the Small Subjects FB page and I’d miss chewing the fat with the gents on there. :)

Paul, just paint the odd bit white through the build and say they are Historex parts!!!

Cheers Simon

I’ve made quite a bit of progress on the Imperial Guard Foot Artillery Gunner and he’s really starting to come together. The bearskin was third time lucky as I just couldn’t seem to get the shape correct but it’s now about right I think. All the equipment is Historex with the exception of the friction igniter case which is just a piece of plastic tube that I’ll embellish with a buckle and a few other bits and pieces.

Really nice Paul, interesting that you have the right eppulett in place before building the arm, I didn't notice it on the Small Builds site. He really is a stunning piece and the uniform colour will make him.pop for sure.

Cheers Simon

Hi Paul

Thanks for the updates , you’ve certainly been busy and made great progress , love the pose on him , very natural and lots of details

If I may on the Small Builds site I’ve seen others resculpt the epaulettes to get a better ‘sit’......will you do this here ?

Looking forward to seeing more ...including how you do the groundwork and of course the painting

Happy benchtime

Thanks Simon. The epaulettes are just tacked on at the moment with a bit of superglue - they’re really useful to outline the shape of the shoulder and make sure I get two matching shoulders - usually a good idea.:) Once the shoulders are correct I’ll also be able to see where the problems are in the arms - then they can be sorted out too. I’ll remove them eventually, remodel the shoulders correctly then replace the strap and re-model my own fringe so that it sits correctly on the shoulder.

Thanks Nap - see my reply to Simon (up there /\ or down there \/ somewhere :) ). I’ll cut away the epaulette fringe eventually and replace it with my own but in the meantime it tells me exactly how the shoulder and upper arm are related.

Looking good Paul hopefully it will be ready for the Xmas bash.

Couldn't you sleep...lol.

Hi Keith, I’m not sure this one will be ready for Christmas but I’ve got a couple of other things that will. :)

I get at my bench and forget the bloody time. I absolutely love model soldiers but they’re hopeless for your sleep pattern.:)

PS This one might be done - I bought it from some dodgy geezer at Easingwold… :)
