Finally after lots of prep Started the process of getting paint on.
First I under coated the horse with Matt black and the cowboy gray Matt
Then it was lots of washes over the shadows on the horses body , then I thought would make it a bit different and give him an Appaloosa mount , then it was under coats for saddle blanket saddle
The cowboy got the same treatment of under coats starting to take shape.

Well, when I first started looking at your photos, I thought I saw
that you'd painted the white of the horse's eye. But now after looking
at them again, I only see this in one photo, and it could be a reflection
of the camera light source. My concern was that you were adding the
white of the horse's eye, such as we see with the human eye. But I
think I am right, you'd only see the white of a horse's eye in extreme
danger for the horse, or in a very dramatic setting. I am probably
wrong here in this situation. I think you have a great start, and there
is so much excellent detail in the saddle, the "costume" of the cowboy,
and in the other aspects of the bridle, equipment, etc.

I will include a close up photo of a horse, just for the beginners
to see! :)

Have fun, Jayhawker

This is going to turn out great I think. You have chosen bold colours and a tricky pelt and I am very interested to seing this as it progresses. Please post as many pics as possible.I would agree with Jayhawker on the subject of the horse's white of the eyes, you can only see it when the horse is scared,in pain or in a stressfull situation.I love the appaloosa patern you have decided upon.

Oda.

Hi again, Taff:

I appreciate your kind response and as Oda says, I also
think this project is really going to be special. So much lovely
detail. And the fact that you're adding that Appalossa
pattern to the horse, just adds to the eye appeal. Have
a great time!!! Jayhawker

Looking good Chris

Like the horse colouring choice but perhaps put more shadows in ...good to see the eye highlight is being sorted

Are you doing more groundwork ?

Hope to see this at Bugle Call....finished..lol
