Hi guys

My next project is ambitious and will be a real test of my patience and modelling skills. This imposing 200mm resin figure from Mitches Military Models is highly detailed and so far it's taken three days of grinding and sanding to get the legs together and test fit the upper torso.

I've loved this figure pose ever since Bill Horan did his superb rendition of the old Tiny Troopers figure of Douglas back in the 1980's. This version is similar but not identical and more than twice the size of the original.

I'm not sure how to pose him yet, but that's a problem for later. Right now I'm just trying to assemble the sub-sets ready for priming.

I'd certainly welcome any help anyone has on the uniform details of the 11th Hussars.

This is likely to be a lengthy project taking many months, so I hope you will bear with me on the journey.

Had the Tiny Troopers version way back when and that was a great figure. Can't wait to see what you do with this-if your Churchill bust is anything to go by, this will be an absolute corker.

11th Hussars is just my most favourite regiment in the entire history of Brittish cavalry.I have painted the miniscule version of Chotta sahib's Cardigan a few years ago and I still have the most magnificent rendition of a mounted colour sergeant of the 11th (based on a Fenton photograph),a quite rare miniature by Il Feudo, still in my GA waiting.Your choice is much larger than anything I have ever painted and it would be a great lesson for me watching you go through it.So lots and lots of pics please!

Oda.

One of BB´s (Big Bill´s) best figures of all times.A study/lesson in painting metallic treads and solid buttons in gold.I´m very proud having this all-time classic in my GA in his original package.I have the 200 mm giant as Trevor Howard/The charge of the Light Brigade 1968,from TT,too_One of my first resin figures and of phantastic quality,ca. 30 years ago! What happens to Mike French, the man behind Tiny Troopers?

Fabulous figure, personally I wasn't keen on the "hand on hip" pose, how about showing how to go about adding some 200mm stair's and changing the arm position to rest on the banister rail?
