    060606..."are we there yet?"

Good God, Alex! As the Zen philosopher "William Shatner" once said on SNL ... "get a life! It was just a TV show!"  I think June 7th. would mark a remarkable anniversary in Iraq. Wouldn't you agree? ;)

    Reduction in Grey Army Forces!

I've put about 1/4 of my grey army up for sale on eBay. You can find the list here: http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearc...1&fcl=3&frpp=50 If this doesn't work, do an advanced search for the seller "profpetey." Amongst these items are: Kirin's 200mm German MG-42 Gunner Totenkopf...

    Who's Going to Atlanta?

I saw a few on tables across the street :D Have fun, boys. This show has grown considerably over the years and is definitely one of the best in the U.S. I'd compare it right up there with Chicago. P.S - Jim: SAVE YOUR ONES!!! Trust me ;)

US Soldier - Modern - Kit Review

That makes two of us. I simply cannot imagine a single front-line trooper, be it US Army, Air Force (yes, believe it or not but they are on the front lines as well), or Marines who would ever dream of entering a hot zone without their body armor. Despite it's beautiful sculpting and...

    Movie"The Patriot"

I'm curious to see how far over the top his "artistic license" will go with his new history-based epic, "Apocalypto."

Old War Movie Re-Makes You'd Like to See

Dan, Speaking of good books to be made into movies, there's a movie adaptation of "No True Glory" in the planning stages, with shooting taking place this year. Harrison Ford has already signed up to play MGen. Mattis (nice to see him trade in his fedore for a K-pot). If you haven't read...

Old War Movie Re-Makes You'd Like to See

I believe that a movie-version of "Combat!" was in the works, but has since been cancelled. The lead role was supposed to go to Bruce Willis. Speaking of which, wouldn't he make a good Maj. Reisman?

Hi I need help painting Modern US 1/35 figures

Mike, SCAHMS - Southern California Area Historical Miniature Society - is L.A's "local club" for the hobby. You'll find amongst their ranks some of the finest painters/sculptors in the world: Bill Horan, John Rosengrant, Dave Kennedy, Jim Sullivan, Tim Flagstad, Dave Hoffman, and the...

    Alpha Image - Military Print.

This piece was, in fact, made on his Mac PC. Back during the MMHQ days, he asked if anybody could figure out which medium he used. I took a lucky guess and got it right. A couple weeks later, a copy of this print was on my doorstep. What a champ, that Vinnie is!!! This piece also...

    101st in Normandy 1944.

True, very few paratroopers did this and they were mainly in the 101st. Airborne (note that the Mohawk-wearing trooper is in the 101st). However, the extra 1st. aid pack on the helmet was a practice within the 82nd. It's within the 101st. that it was not. I think you could get away with the...

    S&T 101st

Paul, A far better reference for anything airborne during World War II is "Geronimo!: U.S. Airborne Uniforms, Insignia & Equipment in World War II" by Bill Rentz. This is, without a doubt, the best and finest reference for anything having to do with uniforms and field equipment for U.S...

How much time do you spend in the Planet.

Per day? Per week? Per month? If it's per day, how about a "less than 1 hr." option?

    S&T 101st

Here are my mixes for the M43 uniform which I just finished painting on S&T's 1/35 BAR trooper (sculpted by John Rosengrant). I'll be posting a review of this figure in the next couple of days. http://www.timelinesforum.com/forums/showt...p=9601#post9601

    1/35 Pacific War U.S Soldier 1945

Looks more like a 6 Bn. Ranger or an Alamo Scout to me (here's to wishful thinking :) ). I can't wait to see this one come to life.

John, Is it too late to put in an order? Come on, I'll share other unique and proven-effective "groundwork" formulas with you ;)

    S&T 101st

Paul, Be careful. Do not use "Band of Brothers" as a color guide. Filming was done using several color filters, such as in "Saving Private Ryan", so as to give a more vintage "documentary" feel to the footage. I read that almost all color was washed due to these filters during shooting.

    S&T 101st

Paul, First, I need to apologize for deleting my first post. I just thought it wouldn't be go over well with this community. The M43 uniform, as depicted in this figure, is definitely not a khaki or brownish color as may be associated with the M42 (Normandy) uniform. John is absolutely...

    BUSTS

United Empire Miniatures used to have a 1/9 scale bust of a US Army Ranger in Normandy. However, I don't see it on their website anymore - http://www.unitedempireminiatures.com

Poll: What do you want from a model show?

Why do you attend a show? Friends. What makes you travel more than 50 miles to attend a show? Friends. What would you most like to see at a show? More friends. What would you like to see disappear from a show? Long lines at the hospitality suite :D
