    "Oil Crisis" finished

Hello everybody! I finally got my 1/35th (OK, maybe he's a bit larger and rather 54mm scale) pelican finished, painted as a victim of an oil spill. Next, I think I will do a figure for a change! :) All comments and criticisms welcome! Best wishes, Marijn

    WWII US Ranger Bust

Looks absolutely great Anders! Next to the black line under the upper eyelid, I think on your next figure you can even go one step further with all the very deepest shadows and darken them still a bit more. This is not a criticism on this bust as the placements of light and shadow is spot-on...

Thanks a lot guys! Eisteban, when we meet you can have it! :) Thanks José Louis! Unfortunately, I won't be able to come to Torrent this year. I will certainly miss the good atmosphere and the paëlla! Thanks Mike! No, I'm not a brilliant musician by any means. Not enough talent, and I...

    Oxpecker finished!

Thanks guys! I'm sorry Perikles, I don't have more pics at the moment. There is really nothing more to be seen, but I should take some new one without the yellowish light which affects the color on these ones. Jay, just a matter of some patience, a sharp brush (W&N series 7, size 000)...

    1/35th bassguitar

Thanks a lot for all the comments guys! JP, you're very right! I consciencely left it of as it detracts from the beautiful lines of the bass... ... and I didn't feel like doing it! :) Jay, the strings are made with stretched sprue. You know, the sprues from plastic kits, heated over a...

    1/35th bassguitar

OK, this is also not really a figure... While working on another project, I couldn't hold myself from from sculpting my own bassguitar (Warwick Thumb n/t). I decided to present it on a section of typical rehearsal-room floor, creating this still-life without figure. Title: "band-practice...

    Oxpecker finished!

Hello everybody, I got my red-billed oxpecker finished, on a groundwork of white rhino. Title: "If you scratch my back... (I"ll scratch yours)" The bird is about 1cm long, including the tail, so the detail might seem a little crude in these very much enlarged shots. Any comments are...

    1st Minnesota at Gettysburg vignette

wow! Congrats jason! certainly the best you have done. I love it! Good composition, and the feeling of movement is very succesful. In the paintwork, I feel you reached an even higher level of finesse and a more "flowing" and natural looking result. Overall, I feel this scene has a...

    SS-Unterscharführer, LSSAH, Taganrog, 1941

Hello Calvin! fantastic job! I love evrything about this sculpt: the gloves, how he holds the cigarette, how the collar sits against the MG, how the facial expression compliments his body-language perfectly, ... How far did you get by now? Best wishes, Marijn

    the birds!

Thanks a lot again guys! Mike, Brent, Jim, I don't mind the sidestep as it is really interesting for me! I also rolled into the military subjects and have thought about their attraction to me. Since I'm primarily trying to tell a story with my , military stuff is just one possibility amongst...

Hello Gary, Great work! Do you nowadays ever paint your own sculpts by the way? You should certainly have the skills for that too! Thanks for posting something that is not a model figure, but of course not less inspiring! Best wishes, Marijn
