WIP Captain Z Tribute to a fallen friend

I have finially finished up the sculpting of this figure. I now need to take it apart so I can cast it up. It seems a lot of Tim's freinds want copies of this figure. So it seems I have not just done this for myself.

Lovely figure . I like the fact that she looks like a real woman and not a Barbie doll like so many female figures do.

    The state of the hobby?

"I agree with you that 'backslapping comments' (woow, great work, etc.) are nice but not helping in the learning process. Maybe here at PF we should indeed be giving more constructive feedback. It is telling that even the 'Brutal Honesty' part of PF hardly criticises anymore. Maybe we should try...

Need help finding photo etch for Napoleonic figures

The title says it all I seem to remember sets like this, but can not seem to find any now. They had letters and numbers for things like epaulets and belt buckles to make specific units. I am doing a figure of my friend Tim and would like to have a small Z on his belt buckle surrounded by...

    Douglas Fairbanks as d'Artagnan

Mike you should know that I love hand sculpted figures. Our whole line up to this point has been hand sculpted figures. I am trying to embrace this new techonolgy and it is only in the last few years that I think it has come to a point where you can get a nice figure from the process. Ten years...

So where do you get your figures grown?

Max those prints are stunning. That jointed figure is brilliant. What a great idea for a mannequin all those holes give puttty or clay a palce to bite.

So where do you get your figures grown?

Can Shapeways print a 1/32 scale figure. That is the scale we most commonly do. And thanks for taking the time to help educate a novice

So where do you get your figures grown?

Hi All, So I have a small figure company and had been talking to some new sculptors, and they have pointed out that they can also sculpt digitally. I just wonder where I would get the figures grown, and who are the best growers? Any help would be most welcome.
