    looking for..

That would probably be a Phoenix model. They had a number of 18th/19th century metal figures. Hard to find but I think I remember someone posting a site that had reissued them.

    Making buttons and buckles

Historex used to have a punch and die set for making small scale buttons which was expensive but did the job. http://www.historexagents.com/shop/tips_punch.php Maybe you can find one on E-bay or perhaps someone else makes a similar one. I think I paid about $50 for mine ten years ago. It...

Big news in a Miniature world

If he was convicted of credit card fraud before how is that the credit card companies allowed him to handle their cards after that? Since they have to pay you would think they would have a little more due diligence for their own sake. What a wacky world.

Big news in a Miniature world

Peter Jackson became aware of the fraud in 2007 and it is just becoming news now four years later???? Something is missing in this story. Like what transpired over the last four years and how long had he been defrauding before Jackson found out. I wonder if he bilked other accounts too?

    That's what I do.

    Questions about mixed media.

A crock pot set on low with the lid off will cure Aves in about fifteen - twenty minutes depending on the thickness of putty. I use it all the time since I sculpt very small areas at a time I want it cured quickly so I can move on.

    Questions about mixed media.

There is no shrinkage/expansion with epoxy or resin. Not sure about Sculpey. Metal will expand but usually at the low temperatures used for curing Sculpey I doubt it would have any effect. I have not seen any degradation of those materials in the ten years or so that I have been modeling.

    Apoxie Sculpt advises

I think most sculptors eventually try everything at some point and settle on what they prefer. It depends on how you work and what lends itself best to your method. I used Milliput a couple of times and did not care for it at all and yet people do great things with it. MS is good and I still use...

    Apoxie Sculpt advises

There are two types of Apoxie whites. The super white is greasier than the regular white which is what I use. Also the natural is closer to MS. I would avoid any of the colored Apoxies as the consistency is too sticky. I tried the black and it was just awful. They also make to several types of...
