Why paper and not plastic?

This is just a try because I had to admeasure photos of a Panther and comparing it with the YoungsMiniature- cupola.
Because of this, it is not very accurate but it´s a first impression for the later built up with plastic sheet, Magic Sculp and so on.
I have to wait until the book about the Panther tank is delivered to me. Then I can start with solid material.

What do you modelling with paper? I know there are tanks in 1:25 scale.

the paper mock up is a great idea for size and fabrication
the paper mock up is a great idea for size and fabrication Joachim, I do a lot of different subjects in paper. Mainly I do ships, but I've done some trains, a couple airplanes and a tank. I've even done a paper figure. I'm currently working on the 1/200th scale Japanese Aircraft carrier Zuikaku. The one tank so far is a pre-war Polish amphibious tank. Keep in mind with these pics, there a paper modelers who are much much better than I am, but it does give you an idea. This model has around 1,350 parts in it, but the Panther from Halinski Publishing probably has around 5,000 or so.

But how do you represent deep? Fold and layer construction?
