Thx a lot. For the hat, I started with a deep brown color (mix of black and a brown). Then I used a bit of the sponge that we get in the miniatures boxes to protect them. Instead of a brush I used that bit of sponge with lighter and lighter color... until I get what I want. Then I finish with...

You're right the female face is a bit rough..... The solution is to smooth your paint. And be gentle with contrasts... I comeback from a french show. The sculptor (Philippe Gengembre) and another great painter (Guy Biberan) told me that I did very well with the female face, very smooth.
