    WIP Sparta - Young Minis

One of the fun parts of this project is working the bronze texture to look like in the movie. This was done by paining with a metallic then waxing the metal to a intense shine. Once dry its very hard to damage so can take a lot of weathering effects.

    WIP Critique Samurai Archer

Looks great; the freehand detail is superb. However, as a kyudojin myself, it is considered quite poor form to close one eye when aiming - you need your depth percetion.

Further progress over the weekend. A wonderful, if somewhat stylized, characterful head and cut body.

    WIP Sparta - Young Minis

Hi all I'm just starting the Spartan bust from young miniatures. Its a somewhat styalized Spartan that appears to be taken from the movie 300. The bust has been around for a few years so I'm sure many of you have had a crack at it. I particularly enjoyed painting the cloak, it has lots of...

    Warrior of the North

I describe it as a 'flock rug' hypertext. Oddly the skin reflects more than the fur.

    Warrior of the North

Thanks arj & Ralph. NMM in this scale is a real trial; the last time I did it , it was on a 32mm.

Nice job. The skill motif on the hat looks alot like the SS skull symbol - do you know the connection?

    Warrior of the North

Here's my take on Andrea's 'Warrior of the North' , its sure to be a popular subject It's a very good likeness of Eddard Stark, I love the grim face which, for me, was the highlight of painting the bust. I chose to do the sword in NMM style which was a lot of work but gives a different look that...

    WIP Warrior of the North

Applying some NMM. This is the largest scale I have ever done this technique on. At correct viewing distance it can certainly fool you, but I was hesitant to do it on a bust scale..

    WIP Warrior of the North

Hi All Just working my way thru this bust, however, i'm using a range of paints that are extremely matt (scale 75). Although I quite like the effect on the skin, hair and leather seem to look too flat. I'm in 2 minds about hitting some areas with satin varnish - love some opinions.
