    In my own thing...

Funny how one of the first things I thought about while reading Gray Creager's rant was the pain manufacturers/artists feel when their hard work has gone unrewarded by a re-caster. I wonder if he was bitten by re-casters when he owned Colorado Miniatures in the U.S. Perhaps Martin could maybe go...

Having a break from figure painting.

For the rigging on the WingNut Wings kits, try using Bob's Buckles in the U.K. (Very nice fellow) or Gaspatch Models for the turnbuckles and accessories. http://www.bobsbuckles.co.uk/ http://www.gaspatchmodels.com/ Gary D

    Yet even more illegal copying

This time they are actually using the artists name. Have a look in the markets section for Zernina's posting "Bust for sale on E-bay"

For Sale Bust for sale on eBay

Unfortunately it's big business in China. I understand hundreds of thousands of people are involved in copying other peoples work. They don't see anything wrong with it.

    Airbrushing

If you want to use Tamiya paints, it's best to use Tamiya X-20a Thinner when airbrushing. Although technically Tamiya are called acrylics, they are solvent based and require a thinner. I mix to about 1:1 ratio. Spread some paint to the side of the container (clear if possible). If you can barely...

painting mix needed for a Bloodhound Dog

Hi all. I'm painting the bloodhound dog from the Castle Miniatures British Surgeon kit and am wondering how to get the goldish brown colour I need for his coat. I usually paint with an acrylic base coat and use oils over top. I've base coated him in flat black if that helps. I'm thinking of...

Victorian era British Officers uniform paint mixes

Thanks Andrew! Not too sure about the sponge effect as this is 75 mm and I don't want too much texture. Interesting approach with painting blue before black. I'll keep in mind the sepia for shadows! Thanks,(y) Gary D

Victorian era British Officers uniform paint mixes

Hi all. I'm currently working on the Vladimir Danilov Dog's Life British Surgeon with Bloodhound and am wondering about the surgeon's trouser colour. It appears almost black with blue highlights. Does anyone have a favourite paint mix they use for this kind of thing? Would you suggest I paint...
