News Bestsoldiers - "The Templar Veteran"

I love the piece and love collecting medieval, crusaders, knights etc. I have to admit my first question was, "can a Templar get that old in the medieval age?" lol! but William Marshall lived to a ripe old age so why not? I think it's wonderful work and I am an avid medieval collector. Cheers...

    WIP Critique Pegaso Roaming Knight

Wow! The people at Pegaso rock! I had emailed them asking about the horse's head but in the meanwhile debated on what to do. I originally tried to order another kit through their website but it glitched and didn't go through, so I had to email them about that as well. Well the gentleman who...

    WIP Critique Pegaso Roaming Knight

I haven't checked the knight closely yet but nothing I've seen thus far has indicated anything amiss with non-horse. Even the horse's body seems to be fine, it's just the face giving me an issue. A friend suggested it might be a bad alloy mix in that one part. In this regard it sounds a bit...

    Life as a Plastic Widow

Does that make my hubby a plastic widower? lol! It would be fun to see a "shoe is on the other foot" article. Unfortunately, in my case, it would only contain three words. World Of Warcraft. lol! Ah well, I don't give him a bad time about his hobby, he doesn't give me a bad time about mine. I...

    WIP Critique Pegaso Roaming Knight

I tried earlier with Apoxie Clay - has abilities to hold better detail than Apoxie Sculpt but it didn't want to stick even though I scored the metal and roughed it up with sanding. I could give it another shot tho. Fantastic Andrew! Thank you for the reference! I see their ad at the top of...

Horse Color- British Life Guard 1815

Thank you Gordy, I was happy to do it. That's the best I could come up with in an hour but at least it gets him started and hopefully pointed in the right direction.

Wanting to Buy Pegaso Roaming Knight

Looking to purchase or trade for Pegaso's Roaming Knight if the price is right. I might even consider attempted or parts missing if the horse is intact. If you have one you're willing to part with for a good price, please send me a PM. For the disaster that caused this post - see this...

    WIP Critique Pegaso Roaming Knight

We might just have to shoot this horse Well I have some bad news. Yesterday, my horse went from this: To this - not the paint - the shape of the face. The paint is me scraping it off so I can try to fix this...but honestly I don't know if I can. I had no idea how it...

    WIP Nansouty. Pegaso 54mm

Good job Eduardo! I had a feeling you knew what you were doing. lol! As I said, I've just never seen it myself. :D Would you mind if I saved those pics for reference as well? Those are fantastic shots of health dapples and for me have been difficult to find. I see them most on the barrel and...

    WIP Nansouty. Pegaso 54mm

Nice work Eduardo! I really like the touch of the health dapples on the horse - I've never actually seen one with them on top of the hindquarters but not saying it can't happen! Very nice work and you've got a rich mahogany bay. I also love the detail you put into the uniform. Well done!

Here's something you might find interesting

Hi Adrian, The front hoof will be touching the ground? Either way, yes, you can change it, the only thing you will have to adjust is the shoulder and chest muscling and that that won't be a huge adjustment - just slight modification. I agree, that is a nice horse. :)

Horse Color- British Life Guard 1815

Got it! While breed registries and organizations around the world began forming in the 1700 and 1800's, I'm willing to put money on that these horses are bay and specifically one of Britain's oldest breeds the Cleveland Bay and perhaps the Hackney Horse. The Cleveland Bay must be bay or he can't...

Horse Color- British Life Guard 1815

Hi Chuck, I can't help you with the histories of the units as that period is way beyond my medieval studies. ;) I can tell you that if the horses were dark brown with black on the lower part of their legs (excluding any white socks) and a black mane and tail - those are bay horses. Probably...

For Sale::: EK Castings figurines, and more

Well she's designated EK and then there are others that are "Tin" as she does not know who made them - some are 54mm and others are smaller. They aren't all EK does Andrea put a makers mark on their figures? ETA: I dug up one of my Andrea minis and opened the box. They do have a maker's mark on...

    WIP Critique Pegaso Roaming Knight

Thank you very much Sam. An SBS isn't the easiest thing to write but working through the WIP thread makes it much better. Hopefully when I finish the thread, I can put together a nice little article. I visited your new blog. OMG! The Stalingrad bust is phenomenal! Absolutely amazing work! Good...
