I dunno, you say pretty crude. By my reckoning it's pretty damn good for a first attempt. I can only wish that if I get around to trying a sculpt it's half as good as yours.

Well you've captured the 'style' I want very well indeed. I want to perfect the campaign feel in future figures, looks like I have a lot of work to do this being the standard. Once again great work.

I'll start by stating I'm definately no where as good as many of the members of this forum are, but, for what's it worth. When thinning down the various mediums, ie enamel, acrylics I'm pretty conservative. With enamels that I use (HUmbrol), is thinned with standard enamel thinners purchased...

The suggestion of hollowing out the helmet is an idea, then fix acetate sheet. It will go towards improving my eventual conversion of figurines. Cheers guys for your great suggestions, all good stuff.

@Paul, The brass helmet mix was by using Humbrol Brass and I tinted it with a bit of black, then a wash of black and brown was applied. Then a dry bush of brass. Finished off with Tamiya 'smoke'. Looking at the helmet again, I'd apply my first coat of 'brass' without the tint of black. I...

Cheers for the replies. The figure has no head visible through the helmet, it depicts a diver underwater. I do like the suggestion of acetate from exposed 35mm camera film. Now, only to find some, have to dig through all the boxes of photos I have.
