    question on lead foil use...

Use something slick and coat it with vaseline first. Not a lot but enough to let you peel the flattened putty up. Some put the putty inside a sandwich bag, again with vaseline on it; put the putty inside and begin rolling. I find a beer bottle works great for rolling though I do sometimes have...

Having acquired both Spion Kop and Nery from Tommy's War in the past few weeks, the best I can hope for is a pair of socks and a tie.

    What An Pile Of Sh...............!!!

I have their "Hostile Fire" vignette featuring four US cavalrymen in the Indian Wars descending a slope. It is missing an ENTIRE FIGURE. I have not contacted Andrea for fear of exactly what Gary experienced. Looks now to be a waste of time to try. This ain't just bad business, this is out and...

    question on lead foil use...

The Vallejo product is just really thick acrylic paint, designed to fill small gaps and imperfections. It is not expoxy putty and will not work. The mixing ratio of Kneadatite to Apoxie Sculpt that I use is 50-50. The reason for mixing is that Kneadatite alone resists sanding. The Apoxie Sculpt...

    question on lead foil use...

I use Apoxie Sculpt mixed with Kneadatite. There are options though; Magic Sculpt and A and B come to mind.

    question on lead foil use...

Hey Jack. I know of no method to firm up lead foil. You can try a heavier gauge of foil but that would probably look out of scale. For gloves I would use epoxy putty, which would be pretty simple (I did not say easy!) to do; just put a line of putty on each finger and thumb and then work it...

Spion Kop, Deeds That Thrill The Empire

I have been working on this, and am ready for the finishing touches on the groundwork. I have littered the trench section with expended brass and intend to add bits of equipment and helmets and what not. Can anyone tell me whether 2/Lancashire Fusiliers had lanyards on the bugle and if so what...

Tommy's war RHA & the battle of Nery

I exaggerate the wife's grumping. She is actually very supportive. That doesn't mean she is incapable of a little exasperation. Colin, I am thinking plastic horses are the only way to go.

Tommy's war RHA & the battle of Nery

I just received my copy of this kit. Uh, standard for the industry? Incredible detail, beautifully clean casting. Mark's photo shows it all. Eventually I will buy something else in the upper price scale and the wife will get over her current snit. "Oh good, more figures! I was afraid you would...
