Are we chasing away the best and brightest?

+1 Too true Tony. Anyways...regarding my thought on my the process, we are definately not chasing or scaring away anyone. If you don't win a medal, buck up and try again. As a relatively new member on the scene, I got a hit of reality last year when my modified 1/4 scale anime figure was...

At what scale does a figure stop becoming a miniature?

I thought you would be used to my modesl Tony :-D hahaha anyways. as a painter of models that go up to 1/4 scale, I agree with tony in the area of it it leaves the miniature category when you reach 1/1 scale (I would also hesitate to include 1/2 scale due to the sheer size of the model)...

    Off Topic Section ?

oh gees no... no politics or religion. thats a mainstay for pretty much every forum. it will just get ugly IMO. I think a off topic thread might be handy. especially for things like displaying collections, organising meet ups etc.

    Photo etch.

seil used to have brass etch in their kits actually. My german tank commander had his radio earphones made from it. Quite fun stuff, but you need to be gentle with it. I think the biggest con is probably the price. brass etch in my experience is expensive. and as pointed out by yourself -...

Young Miniatures - June New Release

Tony, First a big thanks for not going down the well trodden road of the nazi rant. It is in my thoughts that the germans sell well is because sculptors always aquire the best period photos of the germans (of which there are millions easily bought over the net) and sculpt from there...

    Can anyone read Japanese??

I would be very careful taking that approach baron. Not everyone has open eyes when it comes to militaria. Plus the fact that these flags were a massive source of honour for a soldier and for someone not japanese to own it usually means that the original soldier was killed in the war and the...
