Thanks. Actually it isn't clean at all. The shield for example is very heavily stained all over with sepia. The helmet and the greaves were also stained with spots of sepia. But because of the light reflection (flash) you can't see that in the pictures.

Perhaps a silly question but what do we know about the extent of illegal recasting? Figures/statistics? How large is the damage for manufacturers and retailers.? If I read El Greco's message correctly we seem to have arrived at a turning point. So It must be pretty bad.

Sharp observation:D When looking at 'Souvenirs.RU' at ebay sometimes it would appear they are not so squeamish when it comes to foreign brands. That place is full with copies of well known Western manufactures. Maybe it's part of their hybrid warfare tactics;)

I just took a quick look at the following websites: El Greco Miniatures, Pegaso, Alexandros Models, Historex Agents and Art Girona. None of them had some sort of message telling customers that they dissaprove the making, trading and selling of illegal copies.

So you have to brake the chain. But it seems to me we constantly get bogged down in theoretical/ethical discussion about definitions and what not. The first step in the right direction is to write down what is considered illegal. The second step has to be a coordinated step between...

Steve: the most important thing is that the organizers of a show make a clear visible statement. Trading and use of illegal products (recasts, illegal copies or whatever) is not allowed. Can't remember a show that did that. Until now there hasn't been much coordinated action from either...

Noble. But I think that the first thing visitors upon entering whatever venue should see is a very clear sign that recasts are not being tolerated and that apporpriate action will be taken against sellers of recasts on the venue as well as those who enter recasts in a competition.

I am with the others: try to mix the colours you need from a set of basic colours.
