Definitely I am not in the rush. If you can scan some plates that would be great. Doing square ornaments does sound like dong oak leafes with arrow head endings. Were there any ornaments on the hat?

You are right Hendryk. There is a mistake from the accuracy point of view. In my opinion this does not disqualify the figure at all. It it wonderful figure overall. This inaccuracy is not anything the experienced modeler can not fix. We all want perfect figure, perfect pose, history research...

I would definitely aim for dulling the red. I think, I would dull red with a little bit of complementary and add some white to make it little bit more pinkish. I believe that worn red is actually turning into pink. Also basic flash tone for changing the hue would work also.
