Thanks, it was my first one for a while.

A bust by Youngs minis that I painted just over a year ago. The uniform is painted with AKI acrylics and the skin is oils over acrylics.

After a long absence from here I thought I'd post a recent bust. This was a Christmas present from my son, it was painted in acrylics (mainly Andrea). and mounted on a small concrete block. I've been a massive fan of Judge Dredd since he first debuted in 1977 (yes it really is that long ago!)

I've a couple on the bench at present, but I have a bit of travel coming up :( When I get them finished I'll stick them in ;)

Yeah its the lighting. Its had a spray of dullcoat on it. and in real life its quite matt. (y)

Great looking job on this. Nice clean lines and some great tones.

Life Miniatures 1/91th scale tank girl. painted with Vallejo Acrylics. Life Minis do an excellent PDF guide to 'how to' and I used it for this bust. Its the first time I've painted a female subject.

Thanks very much for the compliment. It was a great bust to paint though assembling the hood is a little tricky.

1/9th scale USMC Korean War 1st Marine Division battle of the Chosin River, painted in Vallejo Acrylics.

Yeah I did on this one, probably missed it out on some of the highlights, that and a combo of the lighting.

WWII British Army Commando (yes Army not RM as the shoulder flash reads No4 Commando.) Painted in Vallejo Acrylics and used some inks as well. Done this earlier last year.

Some chip wrappers, an empty bottle of Buckfast and a couple of cans of Tenants Super lager?:ROFLMAO: As a Scot I can say these things! I love the way the figure is posed sat on your plinth. Perhaps on a rocky outcrop surrounded with heather or on a bench a bothy?

Yeah, I agree, but inks have their place I think. you can get a sharper paint line with just a wee bit of ink in the mix.

Hi Gells, The mesh effect was based on a lot of makeshift camo painting that was happening at the time, using netted laundry bags. Yeah that's my mug on the avatar in the company car. I did have a pervious model in 'racing green' at one point, which had a lot of extra features such as a 30 mil...

Hi Terry, I've been haring wonderful things about the Jo Sonja range in various places. I can't get to grips with oils :( I did use enamels back in the day. I have also heard guys waxing lyrical about lacquer based paints.

I use acrylics, usually with a bit of Tamiya flat base, and ink washes.

Yeah slight sheen on it from some washes I put over the uniform and my photography skills don't help!
